»BREAKING: In an extraordinary Sunday night statement, the White House announces that the US "will no longer be in the immediate area" of Northern Syria, allow Turkey to launch an invasion in the region and give Turkey responsibility for captured ISIS fighters in the area.« (MSNBC)
»As we explained in December, permitting Turkey to invade Rojava doesn't just mean betraying and slaughtering the ones who defeated ISIS—it also creates the conditions for the next ISIS to emerge. This is a tragedy on a catastrophic scale.

The bloodshed that will occur as a result of this invasion—in addition to all the horrors that have already taken place in Syria—is hard to imagine.
We urge all people of good conscience to do everything in their power to impose consequences on Turkey for this hateful attack.
This monument (photo 3) in Kobane marks the furthest point that the territorial expansion of ISIS reached in Iraq and Syria in 2014. ISIS took 85 percent of the city, advancing as far as this intersection before being turned around by resistance. Now Turkey is returning to finish the job.
The consequences of Turkey's attack will create the conditions for many more years of violence+repression worldwide. This is doubtless Trump's agenda: demagogues like him only stand to gain from this.«
