the last thing manjoume had expected was for asuka to hug him. it wasn’t bad--far from it--he was happy actually. he had wanted to hug her as well, but worried about making her uncomfortable. he felt himself relax in her embrace as he slowly returned it, letting out a breath he had been holding in.
“i missed you so much.” the words slip out of his mouth without him wanting to and he freezes up for a moment before quickly adding, “e-everyone misses you. jaden, johan, kaiser, master...it’s not the same without you.” he does his best to retract from his first statement. he felt foolish in a way, still finding himself in love with asuka 3 years later. she would never like someone like him. he knew that. she deserved better than him anyways.
