After Earl Ketry, co-founder of Buffalo RiverWorks, announced that he was going to be bringing a 100 foot ferris wheel to his ever-evolving waterfront recreational venue, I figured that I would sit down with him to discuss the latest acquisition.
An interesting controversy was recently resolved when RiverWorks installed an ad for The Vinyl Outlet [seen on the upper left of the complex]. The 3-story ad was panned by locals, and it was installed without approval by the city. Buffalo slapped RiverWorks with a $500/day fine, but then nature decided it had enough: the sign was shredded during a recent storm. Probably not a good look if the vinyl ad was promoting...well, vinyl. Nor does it assure visitors they would have been protected from falling rubble-which is what Ketry claimed the wrap was intended to do.
