Three things:

I’m very sorry I haven’t been on here recently. My absence had nothing to do with Tumblr (I missed all of you!). Over the past few months I have had a lot of personal things going on that left me with little time or energy to blog or create content or even catch up on comics. I really appreciate everyone who’s stuck with me and I'm looking forward to easing back into here and participating in fandom again!

Mood: setting a post up and giggling to yourself then getting embarrassed and deleting it

I never really do anything special for the annual Batman Day, because to me every day is Batman Day.

Last night I went to take out the garbage and I ALMOST STEPPED ON A SNAKE AHHHHHH. Actual footage of the incident:

I started playing Layers of Fear and it’s a beautifully-macabre game with a very suspenseful story that I’m having a lot of fun piecing together, but it’s taking me a while to actually complete it because I have to pause and brace my nervous system every time I turn the corner and see creepy shit like IT CANNOT BE UNDONE, FINISH IT, SHAPES EMERGE painted across the walls. Then a door slightly creaks open and I scream like Scarecrow when the Powerpuff Girls set him aflame.

Do any of you watch Preacher? I’m a BIG fan of the show and have read the entire comic series (except for a few one-shots), and I’m really loving this season--it’s so over-the-top absurd in the best way possible.

When I was thirteen I borrowed a Sweet Valley High book from the library and took it to school to read and ended up losing it, which of course means that I was never able to return it. I moved far away a couple of months later and this allowed me to successfully get away with my crime. That was fifteen years ago and I now owe about $6K in late fees, a debt I intend to never pay. It is my most villainous act to date.

Sometimes I feel kinda out-of-place in the the DC fandom because I am far more interested in past comics/films/television shows than I am in the DCEU. The current state of DC Comics excites me much less than their older work does. And I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with that, but it does make me feel a little left-behind of sorts to see other fans get amped up for upcoming releases while I’m perfectly content to just revisit and rediscover older material.
