Okay we have all agreed that Sherlocks activities and overall energy is the biggest source of annoyance to Mycroft on a general pane bc his peace has been robbed.
But I think that a lot of people just. Neglect those lethargic states Sherlock gets in after solving some of his mysteries bc Watson's stories don't usually have them there (the word lethargy itself is mentioned thrice in the whole series; and only once talking about Holmes)
Sherlock is a super energetic child, but then at some point, after doing some great big thing, he goes into a stage of lethargy and is just. Very cat like lying on a bed or sofa or floor to lazy to do anything bc that big thing has depleted his energy.
And the first couple of times it happens, Mycroft freaks out because here is a silent non-moving Sherlock. And Sherlock never does that willingly and something must be wrong.
And even when Sherlock goes "just tired rn" Mycroft still freaked out bc his baby brother has ALL the family energy and he's not supposed to be this still and silent. He's not even quite still and silent when in his mind palace.
And its just wrong as far as Mycroft is concerned. It terrifies him the first times bc he thinks something has gone very wrong and he's lost Sherlock
And so when Sherlock eventually regains his energy and chaotic brother ways back Mycroft is absolutely relieved and doesn't even have the energy to sigh when Sherlock does stupid insane stuff bc he's just glad he's got his little brother back. Safe and sound and insanely chaotic like he was always supposed to be.
...I'm writing this, is what I mean.
