tiny summer blurb - Xander
“Someone makes it stop, please!”
You lazily turn your head to Xander who's laying on the floor next to you. He’s shirtless and sweat glides off his torso and makes his hair stick to his forehead. Heatwaves have been kicking your ass for a few days.
“Sorry, I’m not mother nature,” you answer dryly (not out of annoyance, but because your body is absolutely overheating and your throat is absolutely dry).
Xander groans and wipes off the sweat off his forehead with his arm.
“Somehow,” you add, “I feel like that pair of black jeans isn’t helping. Just so you know.”
“Mh, I’d take it off, but I think my body’s stuck to the floor. Can’t move.”
You snort and roll over, resting on your elbows as you gaze at his face. He’s pink from the heat, and he looks in such discomfort, you can’t help but feel pity for the poor man. You reach for his zipper and tug down on his pants. He wiggles his hips off the floor until he’s laying in just his underwear. You throw the pants further away and go back to laying next to him. Your wings are spread out as much as you can to avoid the warm feelings of feathers on your skin.
“I feel like you could cook eggs on me at this point,” Xander nearly whines.
“... You want to try?”
There’s a silence, and you just know he’s considering it. You look back at him. He looks back at you.
“I think I’m good,” he finally says.
You nod. You spend a moment more in silence. The light curtains are rippling in the weak breeze since you opened all the windows in hopes of creating some air. Finally, Xander hauls himself up.
“Where are you going?”
“I’m gonna get food. And pillows. I don’t know about you, but no way I’m going to sleep in that hot ass bed.”
“Don’t forget your stuffed animal,” you mumble with closed eyes as he walks away.
You can hear his offended protest (“It’s not mine, it’s Charlotte’s! And it was one time!”) and you smile to yourself.
You’ve drifted off to sleep before he comes back, but when you wake up, there’s a pillow under your head and a bunch of water and snacks by your side. On the other side, despite the heat, there’s Xander.
