Juno weekend will mess with traffic

Hamilton is preparing for road closures and traffic disruptions as it hosts the Juno Awards. Several streets and lanes in the downtown core will be affected in the days leading up to and during the event, as the city gets ready for performances, events, and increased visitor traffic.

Officials say closures will be staggered depending on setup and event timing, with some restrictions starting days in advance. Drivers and transit users are being advised to plan ahead, expect delays, and look for alternate routes around key areas near the venue.

The Junos are expected to bring a boost of activity to the city, with fans, artists, and industry visitors arriving throughout the weekend. Local businesses may see increased foot traffic, even as navigation around the core becomes more complicated.
