Jimmy corrected too late. Not by much—just enough to make it matter. The semi drifted across the lane without warning, all grill and headlights and weight, filling the windshield like it had always been there. Horn. Swerve. The smell of hot rubber. Someone yelling Jimmy’s name like it might change physics. Then silence. Then road again. Nobody said anything for a long minute. Jimmy laughed…
