It all started with running 5k’s and now I’m gradually building up my regimen. Next race is a 12k on December 4th! Building my way up to a marathon 👍 hard work pays off #keepworking
No one likes to run. I only do it because I’m motivated
I was afraid of oversleeping, not waking up two hours before my alarm clock! Marathon here I come, tired as hell. Also, get to run my first marathon while on the heaviest day of my period oh joy
I’m excited and nervous as hell. If my half marathon and training proved anything, it’s that I’m gonna be fine, but I really want a <3:35 marathon. Even got myself a splits wrist band too. The lady giving the wristbands asked where I was seeded, and I told her it was my first marathon. She said I should go for a 4:30. Between spoonfuls of free yogurt from the Oikos booth, I told her I’ve been training for 3:35 and I’m trying to qualify for Boston. She kinda choked a bit when she handed it to me. Also, spot the dope windbreaker and pint glass.
Crushed a 14 mile long run today, 8’25” avg pace and hit a few sub-8s the second half. Furthest I’ve ever ran. First half was rough, it was about 10 degrees colder than what I’m used to and running with a camelbak felt a little weird initially. But watching the sun rise over the course of 2 hours was really amazing. I love running more and more every week.
9 weeks out
Warm windy weather cut my 14 mile long run to 10.5. So this week, I’m gonna look into running hydration, a better inhaler for my asthma, resuming my iron pill regimen (not sure if that’s enough time for an effect but I’ll try), and a way more consistent running schedule.
It was wet before my run, then i had some steady showers after mile 8. Asthma kicked my ass today tho, I couldn’t get my legs to run faster than 8’40; they felt like bricks just 10 minutes in. But, I held steady and finished strong so that’s what matters! I also tried consuming chewables mid-run for the first time ever, that was interesting 🤔
