Today LIVE! Sometimes you meet someone and you just know. That’s how it was the first time I met singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer/musical director, Rob Bonfiglio. Unassuming and gracious, I never would have guessed the magnitude of his career, meeting him for the first when he was a sideman, albeit a brilliant one, for Nick Guzman at his first house concert, being a supportive sweetheart.
Rob first gained prominence as the founding member of Wanderlust, who opened for The Who and Collective Soul, to name but two. A critically acclaimed solo artist with 5 solo albums released to date, Rob’s been a touring guitarist with the Brian Wilson Band, now, The Pet Sounds Band, and is the guitarist/musical director for Wilson Phillips, producing their most recent album, Dedicated.
Rob has lent his consummate skills to Peter Asher, Rosemary Butler, The Wild Honey Orchestra, readying to do their Warren Zevon tribute, October 24th, and The Tribe, to name a few; the last two, once again, highlight Rob’s humanity.
Solo albums include Trouble Again (my favorite), and its companion, Acoustic Trouble, Freeway, Mea Culpa, Bring On The Happy, and Shine (under the band name The Skies of America). He’s in heavy rotation in my kitchen.
A devoted family man, Rob makes beautiful music with his wife and daughter. There’s quite a family legacy. Crazy talented, kind, lovely to the core, I haven’t seen Rob since a few days before the pandemic shutdown. He’s graced my living room and this show; this’ll be our first virtual hang. 🤞that he’ll play for us. So looking forward to catching up!
