idk i think jackson’s assessment of his dad as “checked out and hopeless” is kinda uncharitable. last episode made it seem like his dad does what he can with what he has while still being realistic abt his limitations. like yeah he quit medicine but it’s not like he doesn’t care about people. he makes food for his community each day to help
