Two of the cut scenes that didn’t make it from pilot script to final product concern Betsey and Oswald, which I find interesting! They fill in a couple quasi-plot holes: in the aired version of 1.01, it’s unclear how Nancy figured out that it was Charles Quigley who signed the warrant against Margaret. This early interaction between Oswald and Nancy would also lend more weight to how intimidated he is by her later in the season, when he must be persuaded to share what he knows of Emily’s kidnap.
I understand why the scenes were cut, though, and I don’t think it was a mistake to do so; those are details that the viewer can kind of gloss over and assume were handled offscreen. Still, though, I’d kind of liked to have gotten to see Nancy go all Scary Protective Mama Bear on Oswald’s ass.
“You eat with a hypocrite, sir. I saw him this very day rutting on the street with one of his ‘wretched girls.’”

...We really never saw Mr. Oswald again this season after Violet spilled the beans (and the soup) on him, did we? He just vanished. Just gone. Our very last glimpse of the man was Hunt staring down at him, deeply displeased.
