Also meet 8&1/2 (pronounced "Eight and a half" as in "she's an eight and a half in the weird-shit-o-meter.") Who is modeling the mall for me while I worked on it. Ages one of the weird things you pick up living next to an art school with a bunch of art friends.

Certainly nothing creepy about her being silhouetted against a window in the middle of the night...

So, redesigned the cover plates so I could put on removable mods, nothing functional, just fun, and removable for respectable company, and so I don't get fired...

Not bad, a little bigger, nice and durable. So how about some small horns? (Although placement makes them tusks, maybe?)

An LED and a tiny battery, just like my little disposable pumpkin lights, and we have a lighting effect.

Add in my overly heavy Halloween horns from last year and that's a look to keep people safe and practising social distancing at the grocer 😜

Downsides, they are small and printed like shit, new material apparently needs higher heat then I expected and they are full of flaws.

The black is also way more solid then I expected and there's only light coming through pinprick holes of the bad print job. I'll have to redesign and reprint with a semi-translucent material.

Okay, with SPLA out of the way I've run a test of the v4 mask horns with blue PLA. Here is what the V4B mask horns look like with a comparison next to the original V2

They printed pretty well, the printer is working great since I cleaned all the SPLA gunk out off it. The support structure broker free on one of the horns, which isn't a huge surprise. I paused, glued the mess of broken supports into place again and resumed and it finished functionally. Just one of them has a big gap in the back and looks a little flattened. Is okay, this was mostly a test to see if the design was how I envisioned it.

As always, I designed them in Rhino 3D and printed on a Robo3D R1+

This was a test. How well will 4 large COB panels run? I didn't take any pictures of the thermal probe, but let's say it wasn't great. 279 degrees... Parts of the penguin, mainly the eyes, got a bit... runny.

Regardless, I need to rethink how to power up the lights in this thing.

Oh yeah, my original array was losing contact as it warmed up causing parts of it to flicker painfully. Also, it was requested that a more direct light world be better than the original ambient.
