Fighting Grannies

As always, Robyn brings humour to her writing and I adore Granny, As an older person myself, I find her an inspiration and her fighting skills amazing! I only wish....

The Council that covers Weres and makes the rules, gets new members and the family, rather surprisingly, acquires new members.

So, in the end, we get a satisfactory, if gruesome ending

The Zahns

Over the past few weeks, I have renewed an always there under the surface age appropriate crush on #SteveZahn that very likely dates back to Reality Bites. He is totally my type- light brown hair, beautiful blue eyes and a killer sense of humor. And every time I have seen him in a movie or tv role, I have been totally vested in his character. Something about his role in #TheCrossing pushed me over the edge, and I now started watching some of his older stuff - #MadDogs and #Treme are amazing and the binge watching has been a blast. I highly recommend both if you haven’t watched them. Well, now I discovered that he has an equally amazing wife #RobynPeterman (who he gushes about in his interviews -understandably). I love how she describes her kids, her marriage and her books. I must now go out and read all her books too.  And, despite my most happy 21 year marriage and own fantastic kids, I think I want to run away to Kentucky to become a Sister Wife to the Zahns. Cause, at least on paper, they are my hubby and me taken to the next level. The Zahns are crushing it. #callme

What can I say? Robyn Peterman’s books are always funny – dirty funny it’s true – and potty mouthed to the extreme.

This is a series I love and have read avidly.

Hell is just not what we thought it was, and honestly, who can fault heroines who love their shoes?

Hotter Fangs Indeed

I do so hate to wait for the next instalment of Astrid’s family life and so this was on pre-order and worth the wait.

This book centres on Venus who is the Chief of the Royal Guards and also a member of the close royal circle.

Before she became a vampire she was a slave and since that happened over 200 years ago, she has become the most formidable fighter – her experience as a slave dictating this form of self-defence.

This book’s adventure begins because Gareth, one of the royal princes has been cursed and they need to find the vampire and the renegade angel who helped him. Venus is sent, along with Martha and Jane to enter a vampire beauty pageant…[duh]. Who knew vampires had such a thing?

And that Martha and Jane had also entered them when human!

Yes, Robyn Peterman’s strange sense of humour thinks of the most off the wall things.

And the fun begins.

I always love Robyn’s potty mouth as she calls it, although this book had fewer of her potty word combinations in it than previous ones.

A good romp and lots of fun poked at beauty pageants and the people who enter.
