Rocketboom started 10 years and 4 days ago.

This is a short tribute to the pioneer of web video.

Rocketboom is very much the codifier of web video... before, there were viral videos but no one was doing a series that went big... but that's when Andrew Baron took the chance and made a series that still reverberates the web-sphere today.

This is where the tropes of news and soon vlogging, through Ze Frank, comes from. Seeing Amanda Congdon 10 years ago reminds others of Zoella or Meghan Strawburry17 than actual news. The show is biased, personal and wacky... and it dared to break the mold of a tv show, without selling it as comedy of sorts. It was still information.

I tried to write this several times, but the post never clearly demostrates the importance of this program. Sadly, the video series has gone, but the spirit remains, perhaps through SourceFed, perhaps through the vloggers, and perhaps the educational channels have its hint...

So, yeah. That's it. I tried to write more, but I can't do justice.
