A Headcanon!
Before Winter and during early Autumn (Fall in some terms you used), Adar's feathers (since he got traits of Minokawa and half from Rodan) will slightly puffed out because the cold winds accumulate his warm-blooded physical state, which reacts quickly in becoming a puffy feathers (like we wore a jacket when we feel cold).
To Lalahon, she has feathers but underneath her leathery armor. Opposite to her twin brother, she too feels hot inside because of the armor that coated her feathers. Lalahon has to remove them in before Summer and during early Spring. On Winter, she will re-apply back to her leathery armor from a volcanic crater where lava was abundant.
