situations i want to put fitzroy in:
getting in trouble with the law. this is something i fully expected to happen in the book, and it kind of did? but he just produced his fancy pardon letter. which was very cool but i want to see him actually have to talk himself out of getting arrested for some sort of misdemeanor
job interview. idk handwavey plot reasons mean he has to get A Real Job for the first time in his life. he's bad at this
someone independently figures out he's artorin. frankly i'm a little flummoxed that people are more willing to believe he's long-dead aurelius magnus than notably-currently-traveling-in-disguise artorin damara. there are a few ways to play this all of which would be delightful i think but i lean towards them trying to subtly assist his quest but somewhat failing at both assistance and subtlety
him encountering someone who is actually actively hostile towards artorin. they have to exist somewhere. could overlap with 3 but i think i'd prefer if it didn't and his disguise remains effective. bonus if they know he's fitzroy angursell and think he's really cool/get emboldened by his presence to express their more treasonous thoughts. the identity issues would be SO peak
getting mistaken for a god/prophesied savior/true heir by a community who take this as a reason to kidnap him and force him to fulfill whatever duties they expect from him. played for laughs until it becomes clear this situation is majorly triggering his trauma :,) bonus if he ends up snapping and unleashing more powerful magic than intended in order to escape
accidentally starts a revolution. can overlap with 4 maybe. he gives such a powerful inspiring speech/performance that whatever downtrodden community he's visiting decides to start a riot. he's torn between thinking this is hilarious and worrying it'll cause trouble for kip/escalate into anarchy or war
the lower-stakes love child of 5 and 6 where his inspiring words convince the locals to overthrow their current government... and install him as the new ruler. he decides to go along with this for one (1) day to establish some new laws (based on kip's principles ofc) and designate/hold an election for a more permanent government
