“---- The hell’s goin’ on down here, anyhow? I ordered this deck clear two hours ago, n’ it looks like a goddamn bomb went off.”

“why are you looking at me like that?”
blush dusts marbled features, blue eyes cautious as they swipe about the dreaded pirates features that seemed perpetually strewn ‘to mischievous calculations.
“Are you sure it’s just six things? -- I think I can count a few more.”
She does not waste time in leaving the Gallows after the fifth report of rumour has come to her office. Fury fuels her every stride, long and ground covering with the sound of her boots hitting the stones as her armour clinks together with every step.
Her templars have seen it upon themselves to take their pleasures in the Blooming Rose without discretion, inebriated and raucous about their purchases among the workers there. And oh how Meredith abhors the thought that her knights are the ones the gossip has been spread about. That under her command they are staining the reputation of Kirkwall’s Templar Order.
And it infuriates the Knight-Commander beyond belief.
It is enough to warrant disciplinary action by Meredith in person at the disgusting establishment itself. Many have seen her coming from a mile away -- the two templars following her do not exactly make it an inconspicuous charge towards the brothel.
“Go around the back. Do not allow any of them to leave or it will be you that earns their punishment.”
“Yes ser!”
Meredith rolls her neck, lips curled in a snarl before she enters the Blooming Rose, bright eyes scanning from left to right in case she saw any of her knights immediately. Failing to find them at the present, she figures they are already in business and the thought makes her grit her teeth.

even when wounded, she still found ways of not only being crass, but showing her own flavor of lewdness himself.
“isabella, please-” he practically begged as he bound her bloodied fore arm in gauze. “you’re making my job far more difficult by saying such..... makers breath.” he flushed at the thought, dare not attempting to repeat a single adjective that lolled from her tongue. was this simply her way of saying thanks? a way to pass time? or was she just fond of the color his cheeks turned at her salacious words.

When their lips first meet, it’s an odd way of clearing an bet. She says she’ll owe him and he doubts every word that falls across her mouth. A sly make it up to titters past and the next thing he knows, she playing the part of a wanton woman eager for settling the difference between. He laughs it off easily enough, nudging back her with a tsk of his tongue and shake of sandy tresses. Blushes of cinnamon and bold ale linger to taste however when he goes to lick his lips afterwards, nose scrunching at the thought and she’s already off talking to some poor sod at the bar who hasn’t noticed he’s coin purse is being lifted. Probably for several reasons.
Sloppy and a mistake is the next one — a burn of slow oil flickering in wilder feverish wants, a drunken era of their time spent together in Kirkwall. Tentative ‘business’ partners, if he dare call themselves that, celebrating a particularly fascinating and fortunate run in with a few… Unsavory folks. He’s the one that starts it this time, a sigh and a chortle to purr from him and he grabs the back of her head to pull her in — she doesn’t fight him, merely a dramatic embrace of arms that loop around the broad of his shoulders. It doesn’t take long between affection pecks for their laughter to start and for one of them to get sick ( his lips are sealed — some things are better left unknown, yeah? ).
The third falls on the high of her cheekbone. A memento of a friend returned after swindling and stealing off with a rather priceless artifact. She wouldn’t be Isabela if she didn’t start a religious feud sometime in her life. His mouth is demur in it’s pursuit, caressing in wistful ways when he sees her slumped and in a state of loathing. The kind she’d never let Hawke see. No words are spoken between them, not when he sits next to her and simply provides a body to keep her company.
No one had ever called the fourth time the charm and they had long since passed that with petty grievances and snarling arguments. There’s no melody to sing of this moment, no heralding tale to tell but fury and ire awash between snipping friends. Terse had their time together been and the differences between the mages and templars weren’t the only thing rising high on the scale of tension. Though in favor of bloodshed and threats of death, they favor the silence of an argument and contention with different physical manner. He still has the scar from her teeth on his bottom lip.
And the final is the simplest of all and how poetic that it deems itself a farewell between. His lips trace her knuckles, peppering each one with singular affection and she giggles something dramatic into his ear ( ’ oh ser, i couldn’t possibly— ’ ) but that’s where it finishes and his mouth lingers longer than his heart wishes him too. And surely her hand is not so quick to slip away from him or perhaps that had just been his imagination running wild for a second. It had been time well spent for friends, for something else never quite named — they were both thankful for that, he muses, watching her make her own leave of the disgrace and ramshackle town their home once was.
He certainly was.
