Marc Minkowski charms Bruckner's "Romantic"

Last night (February 25th, 2012) was a phenomenal night, we heard Bruckner as we never have before. With the performance of the amazing Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the great Marc Minkowski, we were all flying on angels' wings the whole night at the Opera House in Katara.

Ravel by Losier

The program started with "Pavane for a Dead Princess" by Ravel followed by the amazing Shéhérazade for the same composer.

We were charmed all the way through the second piece by the voice from of Michèle Losier (mezzo soprano) which was absolutely gorgeous on every level. A charming angelic voice singing directly from heaven to earth like a pure while light from the sky, and an absolutely stunning look with the oil-green dress that she chose to keep our eyes on her charming look as much as we kept our ears up to her angelic voice.

Losier really proved last night that beauty can be from the inside-out all the way. Everybody in the hall was astound while she was performing and you could practically hear the needles drop sound when she stops singing as everybody was a bit late to cheer after each aria she sang because we were like hypnotized by the power of her magical throat that is still singing in our ears till this very moment.

The Genius and the Muse

Charmed and blessed by a mysterious Muse, Minkowski conducted the Bruckner's Romantic Symphony No. 4, which not only was amazing, but not like anything we heard before. It was angelic, violent, romantic, vivid, charming, scary and fantastic. It's like he translated all our deepest feelings across ages and poured them all in our ears in a nearly 45 minutes of great performance. Minkowski has just summarized the whole human experience since the day we existed till this very moment in only 45 minutes. What a genius!

After Show...

As always, I couldn't help not to go behind the stage and say thanks to the people who enchanted our night. When I met Mr. Minkowski and talked to him about the music I realized why was it such a great experience. This man is a genius not in music alone but in life. He analyzed the symphony piece by piece, measure by measure and note by note to understand the soul of this great work.

He showed a very high professionalism and a very powerful analytic ability that rarely exists with anybody else. He understands the symphony as a human being and that's why we felt our whole human experience was summarized just before our ears when we heard it. Great work Minkowski, we hope to see you soon in another great work of your senses and genius.
