@maddieryn that was my first thought too but none of that is what he said. i understand his ptsd but 97% of what he talked about was being a drunken fishermen and he was seemingly a little embarassed about calvin and them.

He explains that it’s EXACTLY this in a later scene, that hearing his friend’s boat was out there “disabled” and with a medical emergency was reminding him of when HE was the one having to make a distress call about a disabled boat with a medical emergency. He explicitly says this when talking to Calvin about it. It’s exacerbated even more since he knows about Tia (which he doesn’t tell Calvin because it was sort-of said to him in confidence).

Xander’s going through some shit, the guy just had to literally transport a dead body to people that weren’t particularly grateful for the risk he had taken in order to do so. He’s trying to be a SHERIFF and he was late for his assignment because he had to TRANSPORT A DEAD BODY and not report the murder due to the circumstances around it. Of course he’s a little flipped out at Calvin when Calvin isn’t being responsible with taking people out on the water after Xander has just had an up-close reminder of WHY YOU CANNOT BE IRRESPONSIBLE AROUND MERMAIDS. This is just yet another thing that is reflecting on him that he can’t really explain or talk about.

Yes, he’s making Calvin’s problems about him, he could be showing more sympathy but he’s had a fucking long-ass day and Calvin is being irresponsible and stupid as per usual. He’s allowed to lash out a little.

oh totally. especially when you add in the kids. Alice is practically living there but barely has a relationship with the kids.

lmao why is it so perfect for Shane’s storyline though. that’s exactly why she was like “I think that’s what I do” when Shane said Quiara wants to be with her and said she doesn’t have to help raise the kid

Which is sad because honestly in other conditions, I feel like Alice and Gigi are more suited for each other. But yeah, the fact that she wasn't a little 'hmm' about nat consistently glancing at Gigi before the threesome says a lot. I think even her not finding new friends shows she hasn't moved on too.

Alice and Nat don’t make sense as a couple lol. They just don’t. Now, there are those couples that seem like they shouldn’t work but they do and maybe that’s what they’re supposed to be but that usually falls flat with television audiences anyway.

yeah i'm not surprised because the way they were looking at each other in the sex scene was telling. like I don't trust nat not to end up hurting alice with the way she was looking at gigi

and she’s still so angry with Gigi. Her anger speaks volumes. At this point, they’re both just using Alice to get back at each other. I don’t think Nat intended that but I think she moved on just to be able to show Gigi that she moved on, not because she was ready to do so, and Gigi still loves Nat and I think Nat is only this angry with Gigi because she still loves her, too. I don’t think Alice realizes this isn’t the compromise she was after. She’s just a buffer between them now because Nat doesn’t trust Gigi. And the closer they get again through this arrangement, Alice will inevitably be pushed out.
