#OTD in 2017:
Sharon: “Detective Sykes did not document the app in her notes because she'd seen it in operation but OffKey is covered in detail by our report.”
Linda: “Your Honour, the Detective used her own phone to memorialise the crime scene which is against LAPD policy & then failed to divulge the materials to the defence.”
Andrea: “Your Honour, unfortunately, municipal law enforcement policy cannot always change in exact tandem with technological advances.”
Linda: “Your Honour, the City, County & State have enormous resources & when they are prosecuting my client for first degree murder & for hiring a hitman that they can't produce...”
Judge Grove: “Ms Rothman I don't need to be briefed on charges I'm trying in my own courtroom. Okay? And how did you know to ask about all this crap on the Detective's cell phone anyway?”
Andrea: “Yeah, excellent question.”
Linda: “I'm afraid that information is privileged, your Honour.”
Judge Grove: “Your client told you?”
Sharon: “Fascinating.”
Linda: “Isn’t it?”
Judge Grove: “Failure to disclose a downloaded app is a new one on me. I'd like to check for precedent. But before we consider Ms. Rothman's motion for mistrial, let me go through every exhibit from the crime scene and compare the m videos and photos to the ones on this phone.”
