Don Draper & Books
I’m a couple of chapters into The Best of Everything by Rona Jaffe, the book SJP said would have been one of Carrie’s favorites. Here are some quotes that ring Carrie to me:
“Blind dates… She could not decide which was worse, the anticipation or the final actuality. A year ago, six months ago, she had thought she was through forever with the unholy three of the single girl: loneliness, being unprotected and blind dates. Now it had started again.”
“It was funny, she thought, that before she ever had a job she had always thought of an office as a place where people came to work, but now it seemed as if it was a place where they also brought their private lives for everyone else to look at, paw over, comment on and enjoy.”
