marielle_scott: When I first started auditioning and was running all over town to actors access appointments, sometimes ( a lot of times) crying in my car because it felt hopeless to keep getting radio silence, audition after audition. To comfort myself I would often think the Duplass Brothers make the work I want to help create and if I work hard enough and stick with it maaaaaybe I can work with them one day. I even wrote a letter to the Duplass Brothers Production company! I found a random email address, not even sure if it was valid! In the letter I thanked them for creating work that inspired me to keep going when it felt too hard. They have a vision that is so cutting edge and is completely unique. About four years later I booked Room 104 and cried. To be able to work with some of the most creative artists I’ve ever seen was and is a dream. Sorry for the long post, I just want to say that if you want something, keep going. This was a three day shoot but has meant more to me than most things I’ve been able to work on. Not only does HBO cultivate a platform for creativity, I was directed by @/benjaminkasulke a truly badass leader. Night Shift airs Tonight on HBO at 10pm- tune in if you dare 🖤
