ok so ive been doing a lot of thinking and im seriously considering turning roon into a comic rather than a game. its a hugely art and story based project and i feel like something like rpgmaker wont be able to fully portray everything i have in mind with its limited capabilities. like the maps ive made for tests are OK but they still feel like theyre not up to par and i think presenting it as something thats entirely art/story rather than gameplay/art/story would fit it better. rpgmaker is pretty limited to a top-down view and its not really working for the image ive got in mind. not to mention i have absolutely zero knowledge with coding games and it’ll probably be underwhelming in terms of presentation with gameplay. and i think the sheer size of the world and how the story progresses would be easier for me to draw/write out rather than try to make it into a big game (im not even sure rpgmaker can handle something as big as roon is).
itll also be easier for me to get it into production sooner and get the planned sequel out soon after its done instead of having to wait however many years for me to maybe or maybe not make it. and at this point i feel like if i keep roon as a game itll just never get made and ill just be drawing concept art for it forever.
