also i cant believe i forgot to mention this but the imagery of kris' personal nightmare using friend is so very curious

this got pointed out to me after making the post, but it looks like we have "red fangs of youth" that are "under the ground". kris definitely lost that headband in the shelter lol

its like some king of...roots theory

ok im assuming everyone knows what Roots is by now. or at least a solid majority of people do.

it's been rather big, so i'm hoping a lot of people do. but i'll give a little explanation first so people who don't know will, know.

spoilers ahead just so like. be aware of that

if you care, that is.

Roots [ or ROOTS. i guess i'll say it like that from now on ] is a word thats been appearing a LOT in recent Deltarune chapters It's been in two OST names, likely to appear more in future OST titles, and has it's own prophecy panel [ all uses [ afaik ] pictured below ]

So ROOTS seems like its being setup to be a pretty significant thing!!!

But theres one thing I don't think i've seen ***ANYONE*** think of so far. And that is the idea that ROOTS is referring to origins

I had this idea for a few reasons. 1. It feels implied that Digital Roots, the first use of the word, is underneath the desks in the computer lab, cuz of the Plug entities with the creepy smile. [ We'll also be coming back to creepy smiles later for reasons obvious to you if you've read this far. or are deep into deltarune theories ] Which would be the Origin of the computers' power [ Since thats where the power strips are ]

2. BIT ROOTS is a bit more direct about this, since it plays in the Sword minigame, literally the game Tenna's minigame is based off of. So it's the Origin of Tenna's game.

3. The Egg Man. He hides behind trees, which are plants. famous for having roots. Egg man seems to represent something from the past due to his appearance in ch3, the. general style of the area being another connection to origins and video games like the above point [ which we'll also get back around to ]

Then theres the matter of. the prophecy panel and that one organikk that gave us "Lost where the forest would grow".

Gonna continue this in a later post cuz i am #tired right now and idk how much longer i can use the puter without draining myself too much
