All of these people I see on Instagram safely tucked away in their artificially lit facilities swinging their perfectly manufactured and symmetrical #onnit #steelmace #macebells during their one hour scripted workouts. Sometimes, they even do it in groups. Meanwhile, my bro in Oregon out there demonstrating a tenacity that is completely unmatched. Cool story though. #comemovewithme @rootsfitness_portland ・・・ When is the last time you woke up before the sunrise and worked until your stomach was touching your back? If you can't remember maybe it is time. I hit a new personal best moving over 20 yards of material in half a day. My previous best was 20 in a day. This means nothing...So afterwards I went to work on the new #macebell I made out of a sweetgum log and drilling pipe I fished out of the river. I still cannot swing it properly and I made it that way. It is a personal challenge for me. The average human is either victorious or defeated. The warrior is merely challenged or not. Everything is seen as a challenge and the course of the warriors life is set to pit themselves against these challenges in order to develop unbending intent. Unbending intent dissolves the ego and the notion of self importance that plagues humans. The reward is release from the confines of ordinary perception where one can take flight into the unknown. I most certainly felt this today as the hard labor and fasting seemed to remove the personality of my life and I felt myself become the task I was performing. I wasn't a farmer but rather farming itself. I am blessed, yet I have lived a hard life, not because the world has been cruel to me but because of the condition of my character. The same character that finds joy in the struggle finds the path with heart wherever I go. I push onward not to have life but because I am life. #livinit #rootsfitness
