Back in the early 80's, I started managing a reggae band while still in high school. I'd later meet up and become friends with the Reggae Dee Jay on 88.7 KSPC, the Claremont College's student radio station. Along with his roommate, we became known as Roots Reality Productions, promoting concerts, tours, club gigs; working with some of the world's biggest Reggae artists at that time. My buddy Jim stayed with it and the rest is hall of fame history for him. You may remember the "Free Roppo" crusade relative to Justin Bieber some years back? That was Jim, my original business partner and friend to this day. He's been real thoughtful and generous toward my daughter's who are fans of many on his label.
