Sutton never hid how much he idolized Connor. He had since he was a baby and he probably always would (sure, he was only thirteen and there wasn’t a lot he was sure of but he was sure of Connor).
So when he found out that Connor and Bree were dating it made him happy. It sounded like something he wanted. What couldn’t be better than dating your best friend? He was a little embarrassed over how long it took him to realize he could have that. He had Rory. Him and Rory were already closer than most friends it made sense to Sutton. Besides, Rory was cute. Rory was more important to him than any of his other friends.
Sutton hummed as he shifted so he was walking backwards and in front of Rory a large grin on his face. He’d always known Rory. He’d just always been there. Sutton had known him for so long he couldn’t even recall meeting him (though his parents had told him the story many times).
They were coming home from the park that was just a few blocks away their houses. It was nearing dinner time and Sutton didn’t want to risk staying later and getting into trouble.
“Did you want to come over and watch a movie after dinner?” It was the weekend after all and it wasn’t like they didn’t basically live at each others houses any ways.
Sutton just liked being around Rory. He couldn’t ever imagine spending this time with anyone else and that was how he wanted it to always be. Just the two of them together. Rory was his best friend and so much more. Maybe Sutton wanted him to be his future too.
