Goodbye, Generation 8. You were a mixed bag, but I can’t help but look back fondly on you. It’s made me think of some of my favorite things that came from you.

From SWSH-Appletun, the pokemon I unjustifiably hated and then absolutely loved. Toxtricity, the pokemon that climbed ever slowly into my favorites. Runerigus, the pokemon I used on my first run, forgot about, and remembered and adored all over again when I did my Hardcore Nuzlocke. My favorites from Galar.

...And on the human characters side, Raihan and later Klara, both who I am hella Bi for and will not apologize <3

From Legends, I loved Sneasler and Electrode, but the one to top them all was Ursaluna-from the Ursaring in my Shining Pearl Nuzlocke that fell to Cynthia, to the discovery and then use of its new evolution, to the shiny Ursaring I got as my first Legends shiny and then used on my second playthrough. This pokemon deserves its spot in my top five.
