Prompt #14: Part
In the middle of the Sapphire Exchange she had slipped the item to be delivered. A simple transaction for a simple pouch of gil. She did not mind easy contracts such as these. It would be done before sunset. Curiosity took her over as her hand ran over the item continuously while she meandered down the lanes.
Moving off to an empty hallway off one of the many corridors that Ul’dah was made of, she decided to take a closer look. It was a pocket chronometer, fancy worked silver on a short chain. With ease she was able to open the glass lid and see that it was a magnifying part. The backside opened as well and inside were a few slivers of papers. The writing on the papers were very small and to her disillusionment encrypted to something she was unfamiliar with.
Prompt #9: Lush
Give her a chilled flute filled with that red liquid, some heels and a form fitting dress. It wasn’t worth an evening gathering without her wine. Might as well give her the whole bottle, she’d end up with it by night’s end. The lush aroma of fruits ripening over time to a perfect tease of the tongue and perhaps on the taste of a kiss or two. That is, if someone was successful enough to gain her attention.
The glasses she drank out of were just as much a collection as any other item. A few of them formed out of crystals or precious metals. Part of the glasses were tall and skinny while others were round and short. They had to be cold to chill the wine, ice cubes would ruin wine by thinning the taste out when they melted.
Yes, she was a wine lush and it was one of her many vulnerabilities.
Prompt #4: Clinch
Making up her own little snack tray, she pulled open a drawer in the kitchen. Shuffling around items until she found the little wire she was looking for. She quickly slipped her fingers into the two looped ends that were clamped together. The rotating screws had a clinch at each end for the wires to attach for ease of turning. It took a bit to get used to using but she found it much more useful at times than a knife.
Crossing the wires over a stick of cheese she was able to make thin cuts. She had traded off the same sort of tool for others. A sharpened wire could choke out an attacker or slice through any body part just as much as her snack. Tonight was cheese and crackers with a nice glass of wine.
Prompt #7: Nonagenarian
Unloading a mound of jewelry out from a large pot, she fluttered her painted fingertips between the items. The mixture included bracelets, necklaces and rings. There was nothing in this collection of real use outside of the vanity of them as gaudy as they were. The collection had several gems in smith worked items. She liked every one of them and sometimes used them. If she ever got into a pinch, they’d sell for a price she could live off of.
Everyone one of her fingers was adorned with a ring. Her wrists were layered in bangles and her neck normally held two or three necklaces. This collection made her almost feel like a nonagenarian woman who had spent a lifetime collecting a stash for no real reason other than hoarding them.
Prompt #6: (You pick) Knuck
There have been those who carry guns with blades, rare was it to carry one of this size. When folded up, this small pistol can manage to fit in the grip of a large hand. She was unable to hide it in her small hands, still seen in the outer edges of her grip. There was a blade, a pistol, and a pair of knuckle dusters that folded out to form the handle.
All three portions of this hidden weapon folded up on itself. It held six rounds but she did not have them and had not used it. It was not something that she had much practice with, maybe one day. Not like a throwing knife that she could feel the counter balance to.
Prompt #8: Clamor
A good night in the sapphire exchange followed with exploring about the City of Ul’dah. A profitable night with the sale of several items and acquiring a few more. It was noticeable that the crowds were different. The normal places that were busy were thinned and other places were clamoring with the busy thrum of crowds.
She did not mind crowds, sticking to the outer edges of them. They were a good way to pick up on under the table trades and other information that could give her some leads. She was always listening in and not many questioned or noticed her for doing so.
Prompt #2: Sway
This bauble came with a warning and she could practically catch the residue off of the trinket if she concentrated enough on it. Grasping the thin chain of a necklace she held up, the slender charm swayed before her. She was informed that there was a ward of sorts on the scant slip of a paper within the locket itself.
Acquainted enough with the conjuring protection symbol worked into the outside of the small tube, she speculated what would be called forth. It took a great deal to restrain her curiosity of opening it herself or setting up some random person from the markets to do it for her. A particular crack at some entertainment that would provide for her. On the other hand, this would be something of worth to sell off.
