Alucard has very weird proportions in nxvania and his walk cycle is super broken because of that, there's a moment I had to pause it I think it's in s2 because he looks like a muppet on stilts while he moves.
Also the fights are confusingly animated, they're the visual equivalent of noise.
Thanks for listening as I scream into the void.
His proportions are extremely strange. Hold on, this is something I actually can show!
So, here's a visual of some 'acceptable' proportional styles I got from one of my illustration classes, to start us out (censored because this is Tumblr)
So, things of note: generally a person is 8 heads tall, the shoulders tend to be around the width of the head each, the wrists are generally placed even to the hips, etc.
And then let's go look at Alucard:
He appears to be the "Idealistic" figure, but stretched out into 9 heads. You'll notice he doesn't match the "Heroic" 9-heads figure's propotions at all.
"But Formaldehyde, what about how Ayami draws him?" Good news because I did one of these for one of her fullbody drawings of him, too, for good measure:
Ayami's Alucard is a more close rendition of the "idealistic" 8-heads proportional figure while still altering the details of it in order to convey his broader shoulders and tall stature.
I also agree with you, the fights are a headache to watch. The one most important thing about boarding a fight scene is what's going on NEEDS to be clear to the viewer. I haven't given the show a chance in years but I recall it failing this bar spectacularly more than once.
