a non-exhaustive list of things i like

-making eye contact with someone who knows exactly what you’re thinking

-the way iced coffee looks after you put half-and-half in it but before you mix it in all the way

-getting off the bus early and walking the rest of the way to work when it’s really beautiful out

-sitting by the river for a bit during the middle of the work day (because there’s no way to feel annoyed when you’re looking at the river)

-the way my mom smells--like makeup and moral support

-singing while biking--because you’re bored or scared or in love or just because you’re going really fast and no one will hear you anyway

-hair that smells like smoke after a bonfire

-when a baby reaches for you or smiles at you

-dogs

-cats

-sitting next to a cute stranger on the bus and hoping that your knees bump together

-the first five minutes of any relationship

-friends who tell you everything you need to know, but only when you’re ready to believe it

-reading a novel obsessively in one weekend

-and also feeling totally wrecked by said novel

-pictures of your parents as young people

-tacos

-being the first person on the beach and pretending like you own it

-writing weirdly intimate letters to pen pals you barely know

-drinking a fuckton of water

-walking on a frozen lake in winter

-writing a sentence that says exactly what you mean

-napping in the sun

-swimming when you’re sad and feeling weirdly comforted when you realize that if you started crying no one would even notice

-when you’re at the theatre--the moment after the lights go down but before the play begins, when the whole house is just humming with anticipation

-watching someone be amused by you

-pure, fresh snow

-the gravitational pull of Al and Ray’s Meat Barn--always pulling people into our orbit

-waffles

-morning sex

-the truly orgasmic feeling of finishing writing something for work

-avocado on toast

-using a new shampoo that makes your hair feel sooooooooft

-getting your favorite mug @ work before anyone else has the chance
