Ok so after I saw everyone posting about Pokemon teams for their FLPCs I got to thinking and over thinking. I want to add a disclaimer; I know none of these teams are competitive viable, I choose based on lore reasons only. I suspect this will get long so cut here
Yup, normal and not evil team vibes at all from her. I mean look! She's even got a Chansey!
Ok, real talk she got half her team on the surface and half once she got to London.
Mimikyu was her first Pokemon. She felt bad for it. How come nobody else saw how hard this little guy was trying to fit in and be what everyone wants??
Zoura was similar. They were taking the form of another smaller kid one winter and since it didn't speak (and by extension wasn't mean to her) Baasha eventually befriended and made them comfortable enough to reveal their real form. Evolved once they got to London.
Chansey she caught during her nursing training. There isn't much in the way of shared history compared to the rest of her Pokemon, she only really brings Chansey out when she needs her (or needs to look trustworthy).
Dustox was her first pickup upon getting to London. When she was still making her name she came across an abandoned shiny Cascoon. Its owner had initially been excited to get a shiny Beautifly. It evolved "wrong" and the original trainer abandoned it. Baasha didn't even mean to keep this one permanently but alas, she can't stop picking up strays.
When she first got her zub she picked up a Magicarp. She knows exactly what the payoff for loving and training an overlooked little fish will be and she's got big plans on the high zea. And yes, eventually it pays off, not until after LF and Evolution though.
Lastly we have Seviper. Its a fingerking. Don't ask how that works outside Parabola. Are all of them Pokemon? Is it just possessing a normal Pokemon? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Most of his Pokemon are from the surface. No points for guessing the one that isn't.
Growlith was the family dog and once his family died, it evolved shortly after to help protect Ross.
Next he eventually befriended a wild Ponyta. After a lot of trial and error. Pokemon!AU Ross grows up a lot less lonely so I gave him some burn scars to compensate. The nerve ending on his hands are fucked and he's just lucky that his trigger finger didn't heal too badly. His handwriting is god awful in this AU though.
Cacturne and Krokodle were both caught to help him with his cowboy escapades and the team of 4 functioned a little like bandits for a while.
Lastly, while lying low he found and caught a Pikachu. Ross probably spent a while trying to think of some sort of play on words to use since he's a quickdraw and Pikachu is one of the fastest Pokemon and naturally his Pikachu would be the fastest one! He couldn't get it to work. Yet.
Day one of being in London he caught a Zubat in his apartment with the intent to release it somewhere else. She didn't want to leave. He acts like he's annoyed by her but like . . . Ross. She could only evolve with high friendship. You're so obvious.
