Day 15 - Ragged
“She fell to her knees as the pain overwhelmed her, her breathing ragged. The Force flowed around her like a barrier.”
My main idea for this prompt was “ragged breathing” rather than clothing. I was torn between drawing Satine from Moulin Rouge or redrawing this concept art from Revenge of the Sith.
In the end, I went with the redraw to save time on reference hunting 😅. I’m so glad I did though, even though it’s not very polished, I do like how it turned out.
So this concept from ROTS has Padmé doubled over in pain seeking Yoda’s help. “she has more midi-chlorians than any person ever had because she’s pregnant with the Skywalker twins.” That’s the quote from the book this comes from anyway. I don’t have the book sadly, I’ve only seen snippets of it online, so I’m not sure if she’s in pain because she’s giving birth, or because the level of midi-chlorians is too high for her body to withstand. Whatever the reason, I do wish they’d explored it in the movie, it’s so interesting! At least to a big Padmé fan like me 😁.
Sorry Yoda is so lazily drawn, I put all of my effort into Padmé’s expression🥲.
