I’ll add to the pet avalanche with my boy Gomez. He loves being cozy in his cactus and he really likes pumpkins with his face painted on them.
Love the name change!

Hey Kdin, I love your perspective on gaming and your work on Inside Gaming I really enjoy! I just started playing Outer Worlds but have very limited time for gaming and have been looking for more arcade type experience recently. I’m done with the first few missions just a couple hours in of Outer Worlds, but that’s spread over maybe two weeks. I’ve been playing a lot of Kingdoms and Bomber Crew and This Is The Police also. Should I stick with Outer Worlds or look for more arcade experiences?
So, don’t let your limited time be the only factor for the games you play.
It took me TWO YEARS to beat Final Fantasy 15 because of how busy I was, and while I did play and beat many smaller/shorter games, the length and amount of things to do in FFXV was something that I had to handle in bite-sized-chunks to be able to finish.
That said, there’s no reason you can’t shelf a longer game in favor of shorter experiences until you feel comfortable in the amount of free time you have and then picking up that “BIG GAME” will feel much more fun and enjoyable.
I hope that helps!
For the hangout: I want to put together a mobile, freelance oriented setup that I can use to work with community theaters and churches and such. Does anyone have any experience with this? I’m most comfortable on MA2 and use that through work but can’t take it with me on freelance gigs. The onPC system is great, but the command wings are expensive and I would want a more powerful laptop. Any ideas of budget solutions? And: Happy new year!

Hey, thanks for putting stuff around that I can read when I’ve been unplugged all weekend. It’s a lot all at once but I long ago decided I would rather know than not know. I also found out about Myatt’s youtube, so I’m gonna go watch that!
no problem :)
Nobody agrees with me, but the first Avengers movie is nothing but fine at it’s best moments. Loki, while charismatic, is a bad villain in this and the movie agrees with me because the final battle starts and he gets embarrassed by the Hulk. Everyone talks about it like it’s one of the best marvel things and I always have it in the bottom half of those movies.
i wish i could agree or disagree with you, but alas, the only mcu movies i've watched and enjoyed are black panther, thor: ragnarok, and both venom movies, if they count
i think the marvel fandom here on tumblr made the avengers movie more exciting to me, if that makes sense. i still have no interest in watching it, but the fan content i saw in passing was really good. it's why i believe some marvel/mcu fans took what was fine about the movie and expanded upon it in a way where i understood why people like it (the movie and the mcu in general).

I’ve learned to live with the “stream style” of solo gameplay videos (thanks Ray for putting videos on Youtube) but I will always prefer the solo gameplays that are meant to be consumed without being a conversation with the internet, like Michael playing through games on his channel but especially him playing State of Decay or Banjo. The closest they’ve come in content (and the AH videos I’ve watched the most) are the RE Remake ones with Lindsey, Michael, Myatt, and for RE2 Andy. They are entertaining sure but they just feel different than other Let’s Watch-es.
yeah, i mostly agree!
i think with a mix of me watching ray's solo streams more often semi-recently, and many of the non-AH creators i watch streaming more on twitch, i've become more open to long-stream content. nowadays, the streams i watch depends less on the person and more on what they're doing :)
the funniest thing about michael is that he rarely talks to the chat on his streams, so it's pretty much like his old-school full plays, but like, not sprinkled with potentially offensive humor ahahaha

Gomez hopes your ask box doesn’t get gross asks anymore.
tell gomez i said "hey, thanks :)"
I'm so happy to be able to catch the end of the live stream! Question: I was just promoted at my company to replace a much-loved production manager. What suggestions do you have on keeping the company firing on all cylinders while also not becoming someone that my theater family hates? Also, I'm a tech and board op by training, and have been told I bring that perspective to the table in a good way and bad way recently. Thoughts and suggestions?
