ROWAN THANE | @rothane
Halloween was easily one of his favorite times of year, hands down. From the parties, dressing up, all of the decorations they put up in the front yard. In particular, when they spent an evening carving pumpkins. It was chaos with all of the kids on the back patio with their cousins, along with the latest addition from Jer’s side -- Andy’s attention was caught between trying to keep the knives away from Rhett and AJ, with both Iris and Maddie right behind them, demanding that their pumpkins be carved first. Once the porch had been cleaned of pumpkin guts and various carved out pieces, Andy found himself in the kitchen cleaning pumpkin seeds. He intended to roast most of them, and use the rest on whatever recipes demanded them. “I’unno if I’m ever gonna get used to Jer being a parent,” Andy comments once Rowan’s come back to the kitchen, his hands in a bowl of water and pumpkin seeds. “He seems to be stayin’ afloat alright, though. M’ready to start making bets on how long it’s gonna be before he ends up callin’ one of us in the middle of the night cause Leighton won’t sleep or somethin’.” He laughs lightly at his own words, eyes rolling. There’s a pause as he drops a handful of seeds into an empty bowl. “You want me to roast some tonight? M’thinkin’ of using most of it for bread.” He nods to the bowl in question, before continuing his work, “You know if he heard anythin’ else from the baby mama?” Andy asks, knowing Jer hadn’t exactly been prepared when it came to his daughter’s arrival.
