Why You Should Insulate Your Home?
Many people have doubts and questions regarding insulation. Questions which come to their mind first are what the benefits of insulation are and if it is cost-effective. I have tried to answer some of these questions here.
But first one should know what exactly insulation is. In simple words; to insulate or protect something is called insulation. In broad term, insulation prevents transmission of heat, shock, moisture, electricity etc. from one medium to another medium. The materials that are used in insulation are called as insulator. There are many types of building insulation materials that are used to insulate roof, floor and walls of a home. Some of them are fiberglass, foam, plastic fiber, natural fiber etc.
There are many benefits of applying insulation in your home. If you insulate your home then your home will remain warmer in winter and cooler in the summer. It means that there will be no need to install an air conditioner in your home which will save you heavy electricity bills. Also, insulation will help to reduce noise; all the way making your sweet home a quieter and peaceful place to live.
Insulation is a long term investment. You only need to insulate your home once and there is no need to spend money every month. Insulation does not require monthly or annual maintenance. However, when certain part of attic, walls or floors require repairing you can get it done at very minimal cost as it is not a difficult laborious work. You can get your home insulated during its construction phase or after, it’s up to you. Insulation is the key to make your home more comfortable and helps you save energy.
