coming clean ,
hailey has her teeth digging to her lower lip. it was the last day they had some free time and those other days she hasn’t mustered the courage to step up and go to aiden’s grave. she knows she has to go, because something pushes her to do so. aiden was one of the most important people that ever crossed her path. he taught her to appreciate the little beautiful things about life and to be patient and never lose faith in herself. he also taught her heartbreak and utter despair when she saw him losing himself and there was nothing she could do to pull him from his addictions.
she rarely talked about him. partially because she still felt the pain of the lost and partially because she still felt guilty over her inability to help him when aiden helped her so much through her struggles. but being in la, it was almost impossible not to talk about him - not to think about him - when a lot of places and streets were stained with his memory. she wishes she could visit her mother-in-law but there was no time for such thing. instead, hailey agreed with herself to visit aiden at least - even if that meant mentioning him to her senior.
the door makes a noise as she comes back to the tiny room she was sharing with jieun. she ran off earlier this morning to fetch some flowers in the flower shop nearby. “unnie” her voice sounds softly and she smiles - though such smile is so shy it barely arrives to her eyes. “i... um... i really need to go to a place this morning. do you mind?” hailey caresses the flowers in her hands. “it’s... i need to visit someone”
