The siege had been a success.
Casualties continuously climbing with the fires that swept the rubble of toppled buildings and pavement broken in mosaics of cobblestone and marble. A vicious attack that would mark their march upon the world in the blood they had drawn from their unexpecting enemy. A merciless assault long in the making was now drawing to a close as the night slipped its final shadows upon the city once prosper, and dawned in red upon the morrow. No mercy was the name of the game, for the beast behind the atrocity committed wanted not to reconcile, to strike a trade or a truce with no one. This was nothing but a grotesque display of power.
Blessed be those who were struck down in the streets and in their beds, for they were but the fools and the lowly of citizens. Something much more nightmarish was to befall the nobles and their children, for if they did not succumb due their own resistance to the nightmarish creatures that was flooding past the walls, to the squares and roads of the town, was ordered captured and returned to the very madman that had set it all in motion.
It hadn´t taken long for the hordes to overthrow the puny mortals guarding the gates of the town, nor to ascend the wall, as fast as the venom of a viper kills its prey- as fast was the fall of the defenses. Beasts as small as that of rats and rapid dogs, and as mountainous as titans cut the lots of brave souls down. Certainly, there was no heroes to celebrate due this morning.
The transport back had been a harsh one as well, cause despite the nobles inheritage and value to the lord, his henchmen was not as understanding to their standards, like puny slaves they were chained and huddled together as if sheeps in a herd. Dreadful critters urging them along a crooked path that took them through torny valleys and barren forests. Their end coming to meet them in the form of massive walls, with towers stretching far up under the clouds. Spires in greened cobber and bricks blackened by moss and soot.
Banners, far forgotten once again wavering from every surface they could´ve possible have been fitted to.
The inside littered In collumns and massive arches. Ushered along they were, the poor nobles, forcefully so, yanked by the chain or pushed by the disgruntled beasts still high on their rush from tonights vile achievement.
