putting it on here bc i have no idea (yet) where to put it:
- his augmetic hands, while flexible, are crude. edges are too sharp, the grip - slightly - but too strong, and angles are too right - to the point where they interfere with the movement. he wears gloves not only to hide the augmetics - they serve as protection and as a support (it's always a tight and flexible leather, he keeps that in check). it's too easy to cut the skin or a thin cloth with them, or too hard to keep a handle of the cup or a quill in your hands.
- has only the front of his neck, spine and hands fully replaced. everything else sits at the muscle-surface level. ports (circular, to which tubes are connected) go a bit deeper.
- i'd say it's fibre optic friday but it's not friday so i need to remain serious. tubes are supposed to be casing for cables which are connected to the ports (note on their flexibility - it's better to illustrate visually than with words). the friction which comes from the platings embedded in the flesh when they slightly misalign with the muscle movement, comes first. (<- need to finish this one later)
basically it all functions as an amplifier to the neural responses in the body (mind also, but that's 1/3 our of the whole). it helps in case you start to lose yourself in the constant stream of thoughts, emotions, and the song which both realities sing in unison. like a cut to remind yourself that you're not dreaming; painful stings and unnatural awareness of every nerve inside your body - to remind yourself that you're real.
and it's called suppressors because whole process acts as a grounding and actually limits your. erm. warp connection. they turn a big river into a small stream - less dangerous, easier to control, etc etc. and i believe ive already wrote that somewhere.... ....
- spine augment bc he's a voidborn and can't stand. actually it's not fully replaced but there's more metal than the spine itself. lives with chronic back and neck pain
