RWBY Panel Summary

I saw the panale on the stream so I didn't see Ep 1, 2 or the intro. There will be a few spoilers. Here is your warning. First RWBY Ep: No Weiss or Blake in the episode. The boys showed sneak peek of ep 2 then they introduced the VAs, Lindsay, Kara, Arryn an Barbara. The boys gave Barbra a cake for her birthday and had the room sing to her. ~QUESTIONS~ Who are the girls' faces based on? Monty: Anime chaarcters. They say a lot about their peronality. Ruby's eyes= wide innocent. Anime influencs? Monty said that their was too many to name. He also talked about the struggle of growing up that will be shown in the show. The Yellow trailer was inspirired by Barara and her personality. Monty: "I ask Miles about Aryn and he gives me all the wrong answers."/"Kara as a princess"/ Lindsay is the most honest person he knows. Voices of CT and Carolina are playing characters in RWBY Kathleen voice Glinda Good Witch(?) Jen Taylor is the introduction voice of the first episode. (She got her lines on the first take) Jean played by Miles, throws up in ep. If Yang and Ruby are sisters why do they have different last names? Monty: You'll find out. How long ago did you [Monty] get the idea? He had always wanted to do it, but only started really working on it last June. Barbra was one of the first to be casted as a Goldilocks-like character. Is there any weapon not doubling as a gun? Monty: Yes. Apologized to anyone who built the scythe for cosplay. Miles dubed the "gun-gun" What kind of release schdule, week, month, Half life? Weekly, varying length. First ep is 10 mins. Magical girl genre influence? Monty: "Why do we have to be pinned to any genere? We can do our own thing." How much bickering went into the Red trailer? It was mostly just Monty working on the early trailers. Fighting style, what do you try to bring out in them? Momentum stuff. Their fighting style shows their past. Yang dives headfirst, Ruby relies on her weapon. Monty: "remedial" Any backstory? Yes Favortie thing to do? B:"Grab Jack's balls?" K: "Late night talks." M: "Writing with Kerry." A: "I'm a little worried about how much they hang out." L: "Kerry is like the Gavin to my Michael." S: "What are we talking about? Experiments." (The only thing he said the entire panel.) Mon: "You guys." B again: "Cosplays and art.' They talked about Dust stuff which is the RWBY world's magic but DONT SAY MAGIC. They use dust with their weapon but dont have to have weapons to use dust. Fave weapon to come up with? Monty: We havent seen it yet, scythe is one of faves. Voices for villans picked like the girls were picked? Jack? Gavin was orignally casted as Junior but they thought of a better and more important character for him. In the Yellow tailer there was a cut line, "You have to stop being terrible." Gray = Torchwick in the trailer Ladies, did you have an idea of how the characters souded like when yo got into the booth? B: "Yang, big sister who would teach someone how to swim by pushing them in the water." Monty and the guys just want, "you to play you." Arryn had a hard time reading Blake so she wouldn't be flat. K: "Weiss ca be nice but can be bitchy like me. I'll knock ice cream out of your hand but ill give you a hug after." L: "Innocence. She doesn't fear death in a little kid way." They ended the panel with an Anime intro for RWBY. From the few seconds I heard. Sounds like another good song. So here are my sloppy notes and I hope they made you feel like you were right there in the panel with everyone at RTX! Let's look forward to RWBY making it's big opening in a couple weeks!
