hi!! i just stumbled upon your blog (and your art is so amazing and your characters are all so adorable) but i'd really love to know more about ru and aubrey? u don't really cover them or their plots and i just think they're both so cute!! ;0;

i can’t remember if i talked abt this on my blog already but! aubrey and ru met because aubrey works at the library and ru (who doesn’t normally go to the library, or read in general) had to go in one day for a book for college and was immediately head over heels for the cute librarian. so she started coming to the library more to hangout and pretend to enjoy books and she’d even try to talk to aubrey by asking for book recommendations lol. aubrey saw through it pretty quick and was eventually like “here’s my number lmao” and that’s how they started dating!

by the time the storyline for ink actually starts, aubrey and ru are already an established couple that share an apartment! they have a cat named rusty (a warrior cats reference lol, bc warriors is probably one of the only series that ru has ever read) and they get involved in the story because alyx meets them through college! aubrey and ru like. adopt her lmao and they meet kole through her and that’s how their friend group forms! 

they kind of serve as the like. grounding characters throughout the story bc while all this wild intense shit is happening with alyx and kole, aubrey and ru are the CONSTANTS that reel them back in and help them feel a sense of normalcy. aubrey and ru also rlly enjoy teasing alyx and kole abt their crushes on each other lmao
