😶+ "So, is yer name like a designation fer somethin? Or did yer folks just name you an yer siblin's after numbers and yer like the eldest?"
Oooooh that is an uncomfortable one. Zer0 really doesn't want to answer that actually but... well they promised. They shift slightly.
"My name means nothing. I am nothing anymore, so it is my name. Humans use zero, as a placeholder number. So that is now me." Its not quite the full answer though and they struggle for a moment before continuing.
"My name was taken, was stripped away for my crimes. Now I am nothing."

Timothy blinks in surprise. No one’s ever said something like that to him before. For, well, for obvious reasons. He stares at her in shocked surprise a moment too long not to be awkward. “ Uhm - uh , thank you . I mean , you have . . . pretty eyes . . . too . “ He stutters, cringing at his own awkwardness.
He shakes his head, most people on Sanctuary have been pointedly ignoring him. Which, considering the alternative is likely being threatened at gun point, he’s completely fine with. Moxxi had assured him that he’d be safe here until he’d recovered and he trusts her with his life.
“ Are you . . . uhm . . . Moxxi said she’d sent someone by who could help me with uh . . . “ He lifts his right hand to show what he means, or rather, the haphazerdly wrapped wound that was once his hand.

Its dark. Kelley can only hear the ambient noise in their room. The hum that was present on the station.
Their eyes had adjusted to the dark by now, and the shackle and chain around their ankle jingles as they stand.
Kelley stumbles, their skinny legs were weak from lack of food. Kelley holds the chain as they walk, trying to make sure it doesn’t make noise as they walk across their room.
They make it to a curtain and slowly place the chain down, and lean toward the curtain, wincing as the chain reaches its end, making them really have to stretch for it.
Kelley grabs the edge of the curtain, and barely parts it. The far away stars don’t bring much light to the room, but still Kelley stares out at them hopefully, even as their eyes glass over.
They feel drawn to the stars. To be out there. Among them. To be anywhere but here.
The door to their room opens followed by a gasp as the light pours in. An older man with greying hair and red spectacles races over to Kelley and scoops them up, away from the window, “Kelley!” He says, worriedly glancing back to the window as he holds them, “I’ve told you that you need to stay away from the windows! They’re dangerous! Someone could see you!”
Kelley sniffles and wipes their face, “...sorry Dad...”
The man still keeps glancing in every direction, holding Kelley’s body close to his, ignoring the jingling shackle, “...maybe this isn’t the right room for you...”
“No! No! I’ll be good, really! Please, dad, let me stay here...”
“I’m here to protect you”
“To protect me eh?” Cass hummed softly for a moment, then smiled, “What makes you think I need to be protected?”
“What are you doing?? Let go of me!”
“Okay, whatever you say.” He releases her arm as she’s trying to pull away. “Since you asked so nicely.”
“ shh, it’s me, only me. ” [@Angel 👀]
she’s not scared, she’s not scared she’s notscaredshesnotscaredshesnotscared- No, that was a lie. She was horrified. She just saw a raised hand and immediately cowered. ❝ Please don’t hit me! ❞ She whimpered. Years of... everything from Jack made Angel extremely jumpy.
She relaxed a little when she realized it really was Sammy. ❝ U-Uhm... What are you doing here, Cherry? Is something important happening? ❞

Sammy stares wide eyed at Audrey, or atleast who she assumes is Audrey despite the gloss in her watering eyes. She feels claustrophobic and almost nauseous despite the large test chamber and stomach full of rations. She‘s trying her absolute damnedest to hold a brave face in front of Audrey, but her composure begins slipping as the realization sinks in.
If she’d had any idea this was how her day would’ve ended, she’d never have taken the risk of leaving Concordia. Her ma was right, about Jack, about Elpis, about Audrey. But strained as the two’s relationship was, Audrey is Sammy’s only company for now. The collar around her sore throat hugs her neck uncomfortably tight and further enhances her biliousness, it feels…wrong, in a way the thirteen year old can’t describe.
“What do we do now?” Sammy asks, her voice cracking and nasally from the snot clogging her nose.
Audrey is statue still, she doesn’t know what to do, and she has to default to what she’s been assigned. Stay here and watch the new girl. She has to stay physically safe and with Audrey there, Sammy is arguably one of the safest people on Helios. Emotionally, Sammy can’t get too much help from the other girl. They have matching collars after all and are under the same captors. Audrey is watching Sammy cry and have a meltdown. It’s understandable. Audrey was in a similar state after her first few days in the labs. Inconsolable, having emotional breakdowns, crying, “screaming,” and eventually aggression towards anyone that got too close. Only after the years it took for Audrey’s powers to develop did she calm down a little and make her resistance and bit more refined. Then the break on Elpis. She’d been given a loose leash by Jack at first and in some instances, bonded with her teammates. That progress was quickly taken back when Jack’s face had that brand on it. He’d managed to even use the last of Audrey’s trust to kidnap one of the Concordian People. Audrey gives Sammy another few moments of eye contact before the guard couldn’t stand it anymore. She takes a few cautious steps to Sammy with a suggestions. Something Audrey would’ve wanted those years ago. [Not completely sure, want to start by getting cleaned up?] A hot shower and a warm towel can go a long way.
