Moon 0, Leaf fall
“Today will be a good day,” The leader said as she ruffled her wings. “I can feel it in my bones.”
“Ah, absolutely, Ruestar!” Freezespark purred behind her as she ran her tongue over the leader's wings. “This Clan will shine like a diamond under your care!”
Ruestar turned her head towards her and beamed. “Thanks, Freezespark! Don't worry, I will lead this Clan to power and success!” She meowed confidently.
Freezespark nudged her snout under Ruestar's right wing and she raised it. “I have no doubt!” Freezespark said as she groomed the inner part of her leader's wing.
Ruestar stretched her wings up. “Oh, thank you! I could never reach there!” She said with a relieved hiss.
Freezespark made a pleasant noise and moved to lick her left wing. “It seems no one can reach every part of our wings! I'm glad to help you!”
Ruestar nodded as she cast a glance around the camp she named her Clan after. Flurrytuft was sleeping in the warriors den. Crageye and Treestripe were chatting nearby the medicine den. Charpaw was sharpening her nails on a crystal piece she had made. Ruestar sighed softly. The old apprentice have been working hard both to get used to her new limbs and be a good apprentice. She's been trying her best to serve and defend her Clan. At the next Moon, Ruestar would need to give her a fine warrior name.
She turned her head towards the warrior by her. “Would you like to take her to a hunting patrol today?”
Freezespark flicked her ears and pulled her head away. She knew who her leader was talking about. “Of course! Should I report how it went when we return?”
Ruestar stretched her legs and wings up. “Sure. Take a warrior with you, too.”
Freezespark nodded firmly and got up. “I will, no worries.” She replied while also stretching her legs and back, than took off to the apprentices den.
After she left, Ruestar scooted towards her fellow Crystal Elementals, and heard the middle of a conversation between Skytuft and Crageye. “- the rabbits by Day territory would taste good,” Crageye meowed as she fixed her butterfly wings with one paw. “They wouldn't take big effort to hunt. Just a single stab and it's over.”
“That's fair, but I still think hunting the fishes at the Hoot territory would be nice. All we need is speed and stealth.” Skytuft replied while lowering her head to lick around her left front elbow.
Because both of their backs were turned to Ruestar, they didn't realize her presence until she opened her maw: “We aren't going to cause a war between two different Clans now, right?”
Both of their wings tensed up at the sound of their leader. Skytuft turned around first, and from the dampness around her muzzle, Ruestar knew that the older medicine cat was licking her muzzle before before her arrival. ”Obviously not, Ruestar.” Skytuft said as her fur puffed up uncomfortablely.
Crageye, at the other paw, relaxed her muscles and folded her wings down. “We were just discussing other prey options just in case.”
“Right,” Ruestar said with a flick of her right ear. “Dont cross borders unless if it's absolutely necessary. We don't know what other Clans can do with their powers yet and I want none of you to get hurt just because you were greedy.”
Skytuft's bristles laid back against her body as she nodded. “Alright, we understand.” She meowed and Crageye flicked an ear.
“I think i might go out and see if there is any prey animal nearby,” Ruestar continued with a twitch of her whiskers, than eyed Crageye. “But I can't make any promises. Speaking of hunting, i've assigned Freezespark and Charpaw to a hunting patrol today and I told Freezespark to take a warrior too.”
“You don't know who they'll go with?” Crageye questioned.
Ruestar shook her head. “That’s up to her to decide.”
“Okay, noted.” The deputy said with a nod. “I was thinking about checking the borders on my own.”
Ruestar tilted her head to one side. “To catch rabbits?” she asked playfully.
Crageye shook her wings. “No. I just want to look around and familiarise myself with the territory.”
“Good, good.” Ruestar said with a nod. She felt relieved that her deputy wouldn't cause trouble for Cave Clan. She than turned her gaze towards the medicine cat. “Skytuft?”
Skytuft's wings rose a little. “Yes?”
“Can you and Treestripe figure out which one of you will stay in the camp and which one of you will go today?” Ruestar ordered.
Skytuft nodded. “Sure, we can do that.”
“Good,” She said. “I want a medicine cat to stay in the camp, just in case.”
Crageye glanced towards the cave’s entrance. “If there is nothing else you'd like to add, Ruestar, i’d like to send out some patrols.”
Ruestar shook her head and turned around. “No, nothing at all. You can go ahead, Crageye.” She said.
The older deputy stretched her wings and legs up. “Alright, than. May Star Clan be with you, Ruestar.” She wished.
“You too, Crageye.” Ruestar replied, and as she began to walk towards the cave entrance, she knew she'd be right somehow: Indeed, today would be a good day.
