What a fucking mess. Fenrir sighed as he scratched his nails into the beard covering his jaw. After a second he set to work cleaning it up before someone could call the Ministry and any of this was traced back to him and his.
One of his wolves, a pup, not five months into their gift, had lost control. They’d tried to reconnect with a world that didn’t want them, with a family that had disowned them, and friends that pretended they’d never known them at all. After that first shift, a wolf’s emotions were as heightened and imbalanced as their senses. It took time and training to master both, and rushing the process was how you ended up with a body and a half destroyed warehouse.
This wasn’t the first time he’d had to come in to tidy up after one of his progenies, and it wouldn’t be the last. While normally Fenrir wouldn’t have bothered, after the scene he’d left for the Aurors in the forest outside of Hogsmeade, he wanted his wolves to keep their heads down. Especially the inexperienced ones. He and chaos were old bosom buddies, but he had decades of experience avoiding the Ministry. There weren’t many in his bolstering ranks that could say the same.
Exhaling a heavy breath from his nostrils, he grabbed the five gallon gas can and started dousing the area. Lighting the derelict building up was faster than chopping up the body and spreading the pieces to send the Ministry on a scavenger hunt. With any luck the whole structure would collapse and the nail grooves on the walls and ground would be lost to ash, soot, and rubble. There’d still be a body, but what had happened to them would be lost to the fire.
If he had more time he’d put in the work to do it right, but Fenrir had somewhere to be.
