Okay, so I've been back for roughly a week now and I'm thoroughly enjoying myself. And I'm still working through all my asks and Cloud's starter list. I have been busy IRL though, you know that life is a thing

However, at the risk of becoming overwhelmed and in order to maintain a healthy flow between here and @scorching-passion , I have decided to change up some rules in regards to shipping. They won't please everyone and I apologise for those they may effect, but for reasons of keeping balance between tumblr and mypersonal life (as some of you know I haven't had it easy lately) I feel this change is important for my mental well being.

But from now on, I will no longer ship with duplicate muses. That isn't to say that I will not write with duplicates of the same muse, but shipping will be heavily restricted. This prevents drama and bad feeling for both parties but also pushes boundaries and opens opportunity for writing experiences I have yet to explore which excludes shipping or the aim for such.

Smut is great, don't get me wrong, but there are only so many words for genitalia before it begins to turn stale. I simply don't want to be writing the same thing over and over again or my writing and characterisations will never grow.

For Roche @scorching-passion shipping preferences will also be very selective, so I ask as nicely as I can to please not approach me purely for shipping purposes. I am here to write beautiful stories without feeling pressured to perform in ships I don't always feel invested in which has happened in the past and can turn this hobby of mine into a chore.

Ships I have established already, or threads which have that aim in mind which are already underway I would love to keep, so for those of you already shipping with my muses, don't worry I'm not dropping anything! This post is for future reference~

Commander Change: Commanders die

During today’s CommandFest Online, the Rules Comittee had a panel during which they announced an upcoming rule change for the Commander format, planning to release with M21.

The panel didn’t read out the full comprehensive rules change, but talked about it in length, enough for players to know about exactly what it is.

In short: Commanders going to the graveyard (but not other zones) now count as “dying” for the game, even if they’re sent to the command zone. Elenda, Child of Alara, Roalesk, etc... now function like you want them to.

In details, for the rules-savvy ones: Commanders that go to the graveyard are no longer handled by the replacement effect 903.9 (that assumedly keeps handling other zones). Instead, a state-based action has been added that checks if your commander has been put into your graveyard since the last time it was checked, and gives you the OPTION to put it into the command zone from there.

Your commander sticks around in the graveyard long enough for the game to register it, but not long enough for anyone to take actions.

You commander triggers its own, and other cards’ death triggers that would register its death when it is destroyed. You don’t have the option to send it to the command zone directly and bypass death triggers.

Your commander going to the graveyard will now get affected by other replacement effects, be them Rest in Peace or Guile. However, if it would be pulled out of the graveyard that way, you have the option to send it to the command zone (maybe not if it’s pulled from the graveyard directly onto the battlefield by a replacement effect, but I don’t think there’s any of those yet.)

We don’t know yet whether this state-based action will handle commanders being put into the graveyard specifically from the battlefield or from all zones, but I’m betting on the latter.

Rules Change – Extended Posting Time!

Hey everyone! We’ve had a great time kicking off this challenge with Round 1 and we’ve loved seeing all your creations!

After some growing pains and determining exactly what kind of challenge we want to run, we’ve decided that trope claims will remain open for all past rounds! This means we’ve removed any rules related to dropping claims or penalties for not posting.

From now on, the round posting deadlines are only going to be for promotional purposes here on Tumblr. If you complete a work while a round is current, we will promote it here and include it in our Roundup Masterpost at the end of the round. If you submit a work after this time, it will still be added to the collection, but we won’t promote it here.

Our rounds will still change every two months, but if you claimed a trope in a past round and didn’t manage to submit it by the deadline, that’s okay! You’re welcome to submit it at any point even after we’ve moved onto a new prompt. This also means the claims from previous rounds will remain open indefinitely, so if there’s a prompt from a past round that you’re interested in writing a fic for, you are 100% free to claim and tropes that remain open!

I want to start off with this, YouTube is taking a turn for the worst. Possibly content that you consume will be fine, but many channels could possibly die. And this is a roundabout way for the government to circumvent Net Neutrality. We fought so hard to keep that!

With COPPA, a sort of regulation is being put up to keep children’s information from being collected over the internet, YouTube has given their creators two choices.

To make content for kids Or to make content not for kids.

Initially it was only to keep information (i.e. E-mail address, location, phone numbers, personalized Ads etc.) of children from being collected. Part of this might actually be from the student google account that many students in America are given to make things easier on them for homework and such. Personally, of my younger siblings only one is under 13 and this seems like a bad idea. Here is a slight problem that lies with this. Actually, it’s a major problem.

YouTube is making this change can change a channel’s choice at will. They can also delete the channel without giving a reason. If they believe a video is marked incorrectly, they will fine the creator $42000 USD for EACH video. How would the video be marked wrong? Well, the criteria very vague. What they consider for kids are animated characters, toys, games, bright colors and things of the like. This means that Markiplier could get his channel removed if a game that he play’s is too brightly colored, channels like Dollightful and other doll customizers can’t produce the content for the audience they want because they want to be “Family-friendly” not just for kids.

Originally this Act states that it does not take the place of the parent or guardian of the child. Now If I’m thinking about this correctly looks like the FTC wants YouTube to take the place of the people who should be monitoring their children.

The other thing is if the YouTuber so decides to mark their channel as for kids, they lose 60-90% of their income because they can no longer run Ads, they lose the comment section, so they don’t get that connection with their community ever again.

Another thing that has been pointed out is that if you were to watch a video on a topic that is considered child content or child-directed you are marked as a child viewer. I hate to see something like that happen as a person who watches videos on “What happened to (Cartoon from 2000s)” or an analysis on a game, or even the occasional walkthrough when playing certain video games. That would be a problem a very big problem. The thing is this kind of bothers me as a person who waited will I was thirteen to make a YouTube account, I had access to an email account at age 11, but I made an account at 13 because I was a straight-laced kind of kid back then.

I personally fail to see how I could craft a well thought out comment to appeal to the FTC, they are willing to learn more about the situation and possibly alter the change that will take place on YouTube in January 2020 otherwise. If we sit here and think that someone else will get them to appeal and change, then nothing will change. YouTube has its hands tied since they were fined $170 million by them. Comments like “please don’t change it” or degrading the people will only create a more negative connotation on the entire situation. Therefore, being polite and making this reflect your personal experience with YouTube will help.

My opinion on this entire thing is that something like this shouldn’t be happening. Parents are not properly monitoring their children and blaming people that are just trying to share their passions. How about parents start watching videos with their children? You’re telling the government to basically take up your job, you got lazy and want others to parent your kids. Why are people that are only trying to live their best life being attacked because parents refuse to actually parent their children under 13?

I come here to write, and I’ve noticed a lot of my time has been wasted due to the fact that there is tumblr drama and a lot of blogs are here to.... produce discourse and bitch about Endgame and make other people’s lives miserable. This is also a very big change. I am so sick of the current state of the mcu rpc. There is a very big blanket of fake individuals running around the tag who cause drama, hurt, bullying, and I know their names now and I know a lot of my mutuals are friends with them (I have three specific individuals I am avoiding like the plague.) I’m sorry if they’re your friends, but they will not be mine and if you’re someone who writes very often with the unmentioned three, I will probably unfollow.

I’m not into people who stir shit ooc and then cry victim. I’m not into people who bully and outright cause headcanon or portrayal wars. I’m not into people who think their portrayal is God’s Gift to the dashboard and then proceedingly shit on other people who are just trying to write. And I’m especially not into people who gloat about the aftermath of drama that finally went in their favor even though they are flat-out as toxic as the people they are fighting against. I’m not into it. It’s disgusting, and it’s very obvious that a lot of people need to go outside to smell the real world.

+ NSFW/TRIGGERING CONTENT. I don’t like rping with anyone under 20, so please state your age in your rules or sidebar. I say this because I often times writing dark themes, sexual content, graphic violence, and mention content such as abuse, torture, and death. Echo is a SHIELD Agent who has seen some shit. I only tag the big ones such as death, abuse, long posts, etc. are used, but usually I only tag my triggers for blogs I consider my true roleplay friends. You have been warned – I won’t apologize for this.

+ EXCLUSIVES/MAINS. I do not do exclusives and I believe ‘mains’ is a really ridiculous concept. People sometimes need exclusives and I totally get that. Mains, however, is showcase ponying your friends around like they aren’t real people & only names and I think it’s highly unnecessary.

+ PLEASE DON’T STEAL MY GRAPHICS. I made my icons, gif icons, theme, promos, etc. The theme code is from octomoosey. My screencaps are from various LF fansites as well as remote gifs. It’s not cool to steal.

+ PLEASE DON’T HOUND ME. I write at my own pace and utilize my queue frequently so I can write with as many people as I can. I try so hard to talk to non-mutuals and mutuals alike to get stuff started, but I’m only human.

+ PLOTTING. If you want commitment from me, we’re going to have to be friends OOCly (as in talk in discord, ims, etc.) I don’t write epics with strangers. I am in love with talking headcanons all day, every day, so be my friend.
