✅ two beautiful rear-feet hits running dogwalks from Blizzard
✅ managed to end the session on that success and not push for more even though it’s extremely hard to quit after only two reps
fake progress on fake dogwalk
More illusions of success~
We had some good reps, some not good reps. Most of the not-good reps were in the other direction, so didn’t make it on the video. Downside to this half-assing-it method is I think we lose the focus/clarity of touching the mat as the criteria. I am still trying to stick to that, but with the hoop I think it’s a lot easier for Blizzard to focus on the hoop and not as much on the mat. This session I experimented with moving the mat more towards the middle of the contact zone, where I think she’ll be more successful at consistently touching it with at least one paw, rather than down at the end. I’ve also been throwing in some turns so we start working those earlier and not just always blasting straight.
Some aframes since Chandra needs to keep working on it and Blizzard needs mat reminders after making high hits at the trial. Didn’t measure it but I think it’s around 5′3″, which seems to be a good training height for Chandra. And I thought that was CPE height but apparently that’s 5′. So we’ll probably bounce back and forth between 5′ and 5′3″ since our next trial might be CPE in November.
screw running dogwalks, we’re gonna have a trotting dogwalk 🙈
A-frame mat a few days ago. I don’t want to jinx it but a) we might actually be making some (some) progress b) revisiting the dogwalk mat for the millionth time might be helping the aframe mat. Look at those rear feet hits!
how many props does it take to train an aframe
