Chapter 2 - The Mall
After a 20 minute drive to the mall Leia and Teagan finally arrived to meet up with the three others, Nina, Nina’s boyfriend (Christopher), and Evelyn.
“This place is huge!” Leia exclaimed as they walked through the automatic doors.
“I mean, duh. It’s one of the best malls in America.” Teagan smiled. “Oh look there’s the others! Heyyy! Guys!” Teagan yelled out and waved while running over with Leia to the others in a small restaurant where they ate lunch. “Hey you three!” Teagan smiled widely.
Nina looked up with her straightened black hair. Wearing flared jeans and a low-cut black tanktop. Nina’s makeup done with a Smokey eye with a cool toned lipliner.
“There you are!” She smiled and stood up. “I was getting worried that someone grabbed ya both.” she laughed and hugged Teagan and Leia. “You two enjoying LA?” She asked.
Leia nodded. “Yeah! It’s great. It’s honestly better than New York.”
Christopher tousled his blonde curls and then also stood up next to his girlfriend. He just had on jeans and a basic t-shirt.
“I’m glad you two finally made it.. Evelyn has been locked in on her phone messaging her new boyfriend.” He raised his eyebrow in amusement. Evelyn scoffed, hearing Christopher’s little antagonizing comment.
“You’re rude! He’s not my boyfriend, he’s just some guy I met on the boardwalk last night. ” She said as she also stood up and shrugged.
“Uh-huh..” Christopher nodded. “Anyways, you two want something to eat?” He asked Teagan and Leia.
Leia shook her head. “Uhh, I’m good.”
Teagan looked at Leia and then Christopher. “I could go for someee grilled cheese.” She said with a smile.
“Sounds good” Christopher nodded and walked away to order it for her.
Leia and Teagan sit down with Evelyn and Nina. Nina gave Teagan a glare, noticing that flirty tone she used with Christopher but didn’t speak. Leia glanced up at the tv, zoned out for a moment. It was playing some hockey draft or something. Nothing that was important or mattered to her. She then looked back down at her friends.
Evelyn and Teagan were now talking about this mysterious boardwalk man she had been talking to lately. Leia stayed out of the relationship world but maybe when she met Jessie tonight she’d have a chance at a serious relationship.
“Hey! Leiaaaa!” Teagan snapped in her face.
“Ah- sorry.” Leia laughs and looks at her. “What?” She asked.
“You and Jessie? Are you gonna talk to him tonight?” Teagan shrugged.
“Hell yeah.” Leia nodded. “He’s sooo hot. Plus he’s a great actor.”
Evelyn and Teagan laughed.
Nina then spoke in her usually motherly tone. “Be careful around him, you know how these actors are.” She picked up her coffee mug off the table.
“Yeah, yeah, Nina..” Teagan said annoyed.
“Seriously.” Nina said after swallowing her warm coffee with a blunt expression. Christopher then came back with Teagan’s grilled cheese.
“There ya go. It was like twenty bucks so it better be good.” He huffed.
Nina glared at Teagan in a passive aggressive way.
After everyone finished eating they all split up into groups. Nina and Christopher broke off somewhere into the humongous mall, Evelyn went to god knows where, while Teagan and Leia walked around looking for outfits tonight.
Teagan and Leia had already been in at least 5 stores in the last two hours. They hadn’t found anything to wear until they walked into the last store.
“Oh. My. God.” Teagan said, pulling a cherry red crop top out of the rack. “You’d look SO hot in this. No guy would be able to resist that.” She smirked in an enticing way.
“I mean.. I can try it on.” Leia shrugged. She wasn’t one for revealing clothes, that was more Nina’s thing but maybe she could take some inspiration from her.
“Yes!” Teagan whisper-yelled. Shoving the shirt into Leia’s hands. “I think your leather skirt already looks super cute.” She giggled.
“Alright, alright. I’ll be back.” Leia said walking into where the dressing rooms were and started to change. Taking off her long sleeved top and then slipping on the red, cropped, silky, top. She admired herself for a minute before walking out and over to Teagan. “Teagan, is this cute?” She asked.
“Yes! Oh my god yesss!” She yelled and jumped happily. “You’re buying it for tonight! She demanded Leia.
“Okay- okay. Relax, Teagan. It’s just a shirt.” She said, putting her hands on Teagan’s shoulders and laughing.
“Okay, I’m relaxed.” Teagan laughed back before Leia took her hands off Teagan’s shoulders and walked back into the changing room, putting her black long sleeved shirt back on. Once she finished doing that she folded the red shirt and walked out to the check out with Teagan following behind.
Leia and Teagan check out and walk outside of the store. “Are we gonna go back to the apartments and get ready or are we gonna try and find the others?” She asked.
“Uhh..” Teagan mumbled. “Let's go find them.” Teagan nodded and dragged Leia by the hand behind her.
After an hour of looking they finally found Christopher and Nina.
“Hey guys, we’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for you.” Nina sighed.
“Yeah, you need to be careful.” Christopher said in a stern way.
“Where is Evelyn? Is she with you two?” Nina asked.
Leia and Teagan looked at each other. “Uhhh., we are unsure.” Leia shrugged.
“Great— she is fucking gone!” Nina scoffed before Evelyn’s voice was heard from behind.
“Heyy, guys!” Evelyn naively smiled as she squeezed in with them.
“Where the hell were you?!” Nina said in a scolding tone.
“I was getting a dress?” Evelyn shrugged.
“Let’s just go get dinner, please.” Leia said in a half stressed tone.
“Sounds good to me.” Christopher said with his arm wrapped around Nina’s waist.
Nina nodded in agreement to Christophoper. “Me too.” She said,
“I’m starving.” Teagan added as Leia led the way outside of the mall.
Once they got into the car Leia changed into her new cherry red top in the backseat. Teagan jammed on the break causing Leia to lunge forward without a seatbelt on and hit her head on the back of the passenger seat's headrest.
“ow! Easy Teagan!” She huffed out.
“Sorry Leiaaa!” She said as she drove. “I’m trying as best as I can!”
Leia sighed. “I bet you are, Teagan.” She sarcastically said as she finished getting the shirt on and climbing into the passenger seat.
