The Charlevoix Mushroom House (aka The Thatch House) just dropped in Michigan for $4.5M. 

Where do you find people to do thatched roofs in the US? 

Nice entrance foyer can be accessed from either side.

Lots of stone, big dark beams, and dark flooring that looks charred. Kitchen is right off the main hall.

The living room and family room flow into each other.

Dining area off the kitchen. 

The home has 10 bds and 8 baths, so it’s huge. The bedrooms look similar, for the most part.

The largest bath has a stone walled shower.

Down the stone stairs to the basement.

And, there’s nice wine cellar.

Cute yard with lots of greenery for privacy.

Oooh, that looks like a bat house on the left. I hope whoever buys the house doesn’t destroy it.

Unusual decor in this mansion in Provo, Utah. It has 5bds. 5ba., and is priced at $4.9M. Wow, look at all the stairs to get to the front door.

A balcony overlooks the sitting area in front of the fireplace. A door opens to a deck outside and a wall of windows lets in lots of natural light. 

A formal dining table is directly in front of the kitchen.

Cozy family room with cute plaid carpeting, built-in seating and shelving. You’ll notice various plaid carpeting in several of the rooms.

The main bd. appears to be in one of the turrets. The room was redone in black & gold, covering up the rustic style siding, but I don’t understand what that old white door is doing there. 

The en-suite is also done in black and features a gothic sink. 

Downstairs, a rec room has a stone feature wall with another large fireplace. 

This appears to be an empty bd. that isn’t being used. Maybe b/c it’s so cold here, every room has some type of carpeting.

This is nice- I’ve never seen a small opening with railings surrounding a chandelier like this.

This is a rustic mansion in Linville, North Carolina, on the market for $29.750M plus a $2,200 semi-annual HOA fee. I don’t care how beautiful it is, a $30M home and there’s an HOA to tell you what to do? 

At first I thought these were curtains, but they’re trees. 

So, this is a stone house, but it’s rustic, not a castle. I guess if you wanted to make it look like a castle, you could.

Nice dining room with a great view.

Look at how big the kitchen is, and it’s amazing. There are 2 sinks and a gigantic island.

This area is more of a family room. I can’t get over how those trees look like curtains.

The main bd. is the size of an apt. and has a sitting area, plus a very large en suite.

Inside you’ve got not one, but two staircases. 

I’m seeing a bear theme here. 

I wonder if the buyer can negotiate to buy some of the furniture and decor. 

There is a double-sided fireplace in front of the kitchen. 

The large kitchen features a well-used commercial stove.

A bison overseas the food prep, and is that a bear’s butt on the counter? 

There are several seating options. Look at the bear balancing on the railing. This is weird.

Next, there’s an extensive corner library complete with a sliding ladder. 

There’s that bear- looks like he’s taking a dive.

On the other side of the stairs is the family room- is that a duck up by the ceiling?

One of the baths is on the main floor.
