“Shut up and put your money where your mouth is. That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas!”
Casey and you were singing at the top of your lungs, bouncing all over her room like the children you were when you tripped over each other and the two of you landed in a heap on the floor. Your guts twisted and ached as the laughter stole your breath, and you tried to untangle yourself. Moments passed as oxygen fought its way back into your bodies and the spasms were replaced with thick breaths, still vibrating with occasional giggles. In the end, gossip took over your attentions. “I still can’t believe Rusty is in a frat.”
“Fraternity,” Casey corrected, leaning back against the side of her bed while you stretched out on her pink shag rug.
“Oh, yeah. He did mention something about that last night.”
Casey looked at you. “I thought you went to that speed-dating thing at Dobbler’s last night?”
You rolled onto your stomach, peering at her. “I did. Rusty was there. We got paired together for a round.”
“Rusty went to speed-dating?”
Yep. It was good times going to school with your oldest friends.
